Description of Placement
I have completed my Capstone Graduation requirement through an internship at Andalusia Center, a remarkable organization dedicated to promoting the holistic well-being of children. The center's mission aligns perfectly with my passion for helping children achieve their full potential. Throughout my internship, I worked alongside experienced professionals who provided a nurturing environment for the children in their care. As an added bonus, the center also offered diverse classes, including art, music, and numerous other enriching activities. My time at Andalusia Center has been an invaluable learning experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to such a commendable cause.
Insights on my Experience
As an intern at Andalusia Center, I had the privilege of working with the art education team, which was a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in teaching art to children. I learned how to create lesson plans and activities that engaged children's creativity and imagination. I also observed the children's progress and growth as they developed their artistic skills and self-expression. One of the most valuable insights I gained from my experience was the importance of tailoring lessons to the children's individual needs and interests. Through my interactions with the children, I discovered that art plays a significant role in their emotional and mental development, helping them to develop skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication. I am grateful for the knowledge and skills I gained at Andalusia Center, which has been instrumental in shaping my career aspirations as an art educator.
